Through the Desert, published in German as Durch die Wuste, is a board game designed by Reiner Knizia and originally released in 1998 by the German publisher Kosmos, with later English language editions from Fantasy Flight Games. Two to five players place pastel colored plastic camels representing camel caravans of different colors onto a hexagon based board, extending their own caravans while trying to block opponents, capture water holes and reach oases to score points. The game has no element of chance and is built around tile placement and area enclosure mechanisms, with a typical game taking twenty to forty five minutes after about five minutes of setup, and is recommended for players aged ten and up.
