Journey Through Europe

Journey Through Europe is a family board game for two to six players published by the German firm Otto Maier Verlag, later known as Ravensburger. It descends from a series of travel-themed dice games that the company began in 1884 with Reise um die Erde, a game inspired by Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days, and the European edition was released as Europareise in 1954 after the map and rules were redesigned for a pan-European audience in the years following the Second World War. Each player draws seven city cards that name the destinations they must visit on a map of Europe, discarding each card once that city has actually been reached. Movement is driven by dice rolls along rail routes between cities, with special rules governing how many players may occupy a city at once and events triggered whenever a player rolls a six. The winner is the first player to visit every one of their objective cities and then make it back to their own home base.
