Tables game

Tables games are a family of board games that includes backgammon, played on a tables board typically marked with two rows of twelve vertical points divided into four quadrants. Players roll dice and move their pieces, usually fifteen per side, racing them around the board in a contest that combines strategy with the chance of the dice. Tables games are among the oldest known board games, with roots reaching back to the third millennium BC, and many distinct regional varieties have been played across the world from antiquity to the present day.
