Destination (game)

Race Games

Destination is a brand of roll-and-move board games created by Portsmouth entrepreneur Rachel Lowe and first published in 2004. In the original taxi-themed edition, players compete as taxi drivers earning play money by ferrying passengers between destinations marked on the board, using dice rolls to move and cards to introduce chance alongside route-planning strategy. Lowe pitched the game on the first series of the British television show Dragons' Den without securing investment, then found funding elsewhere; the debut edition, Destination London, launched through RTL Games Ltd for Christmas 2004 and became Hamleys toy shop's best-selling game that year. More than twenty-five further editions followed, set in different cities and tied to licensed properties including Pixar films, Harry Potter, the London 2012 Olympics and Downton Abbey. The brand changed hands twice after RTL Games entered administration in 2009, passing to Lowe's own She Who Dares UK Ltd and then, in March 2022, to Heathside Trading.
