I packed my bag is a spoken memory game commonly played to pass time on car trips or in classrooms. The first player opens with the phrase "I packed my bag and in it I put," naming one object, and each following player must repeat every item named so far in order before adding a new one of their own. A player who forgets an earlier item, gets the order wrong, or cannot think of anything new to add is eliminated, and play continues until a single winner remains who has kept every item straight. Popular variants tighten the challenge by requiring each new item to begin with the next letter of the alphabet, or reframe the list around a theme, such as items packed for a trip to the zoo or contents pulled from a grandmother's trunk, while keeping the same cumulative recall structure.
