Colours is a patience or card solitaire game played with a single pack of playing cards, belonging to the same family of solitaire games as Sir Tommy, Strategy and Calculation. It is a variation of the solitaire game Lady Betty and takes its name from the way color governs how foundation piles are built. The player deals cards one by one onto foundation piles or onto six waste piles; the game requires specific starter cards, a two, three, four and five, where the deuce and the four must be of one color and the three and five of the other. Foundations are then built up by matching color, and the game is won when all cards are built onto the foundations, each of which ends with an ace, a deuce, a three and a four on top.
