Andrew Hoy

Andrew Hoy is an Australian equestrian rider born February 8, 1959, in Culcairn, New South Wales, who specializes in the discipline of eventing. He has won six Olympic medals: team gold at the 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Games, individual silver at the 2000 Sydney Games, team silver at the 2020 Tokyo Games, and individual bronze also at the 2020 Tokyo Games. He has competed at eight Olympic Games between 1984 and 2020, missing only the 2008 edition, an Australian record for Olympic appearances, and at the Tokyo Games he became Australia's oldest-ever male Olympian at age sixty-two. He has also won team eventing medals at the World Championships in 1986 and 2006, was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2000, received the Medal of the Order of Australia, and has based his training operation in Leicestershire, England, since 1993.
