Ants in the Pants (game)

Dexterity and Physical Skill Games

Ants in the Pants is a children's dexterity game built around a small plastic pair of pants and sets of color-coded plastic ants with spring-loaded tails. Two to four players load their ants onto a launching pad built into the pants and press down to flip them into the air, scoring points for every ant that lands inside the pants rather than outside. Rounds are short, typically lasting about ten minutes, and later editions added obstacles such as plastic suspenders or character cutouts to make landing an ant more difficult. Marvin Glass and Associates designed the game, which the Minnesota toy company Schaper first produced in 1969 under William H. Schaper's direction. Hasbro acquired the Schaper line in 1986 and has continued to manufacture and sell Ants in the Pants since.
