Downfall is a two-player game for players aged seven and older, first marketed by the Milton Bradley Company in 1970 and later carried forward by Hasbro after that company's later corporate mergers, remaining available in some markets including the United Kingdom. Each player's side of the vertical game unit holds five rotating slotted dials, and the object of the game is to release five numbered plastic tokens, numbered one through five, down through the dials so that they land in the tray below arranged in correct numerical sequence, faster than the opposing player manages the same task on their own side. Because the dials must be rotated carefully to let each token drop through its matching slot without letting other tokens fall out of order, the game rewards a mixture of quick reflexes and careful, deliberate manipulation rather than pure speed alone, giving it a light dexterity and skill element distinct from the pure luck or strategy found in many other simple family board games of its era.
