Attacktix

Dexterity and Physical Skill Games

Attacktix is a collectible action figure battle game released by Hasbro between 2005 and 2006, built around licensed properties including Star Wars, Transformers and Marvel Comics. Rather than using a board, dice or cards, the game is played by moving figures across any flat surface, sliding their bases to cover a figure's allotted number of movement points, called tix, before attacking with spring-loaded features such as swinging weapons or projectile launchers built into each figure. Each figure clicks or otherwise gives physical feedback when it registers a hit, and a figure is removed from play once it has taken enough hits, with the winner being the player whose figure or figures are left standing at the end of a battle. Larger figures, called Battle Masters, require hits on two separate target points rather than a single knockdown to be eliminated, giving them extra durability in a battle. The game was designed so that a larger collection of figures did not automatically translate into an overwhelming advantage, aiming to keep battles competitive between players with collections of different sizes, and was marketed as a physical, dice-free alternative to click-based miniature games such as HeroClix.
