Thin Ice (game)

Dexterity and Physical Skill Games

Thin Ice is a dexterity board game produced in 1989 by the Pressman Toy Corporation and designed by Larry Harris. Players place as many wet marbles as possible onto a stretched tissue representing thin ice, taking turns adding marbles without causing the tissue to break and release the marbles already placed, testing steadiness and light touch rather than strategy. The game is played by two to four players, with setup taking about five minutes and a typical playing time of around thirty minutes that varies with how long the tissue holds. Contemporary game guides classified it as a game of high chance rather than skill, since the moment the tissue finally gives is unpredictable even for a careful player.
