Pertti Johannes Karppinen, born February 17, 1953, is a retired Finnish rower noted for winning three consecutive Olympic gold medals in the single sculls, in 1976, 1980 and 1984. He also won world titles in 1979 and 1985. He is one of only two men to win three straight Olympic golds in the single scull event, alongside Russia's Vyacheslav Ivanov.
