Xu Lijia is a Chinese sailor born August 30, 1987, in Shanghai, who competes in the Laser Radial single-handed dinghy class. She won an Olympic bronze medal in Laser Radial at the 2008 Beijing Games and Olympic gold in the same event at the 2012 London Games, having overcome partial deafness in one ear, partial blindness in one eye, and surgery for a bone tumor before the 2004 Olympics; she also won the 2006 World Championship gold in her class and multiple Asian Games medals, and served as China's flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
