Emma Kimberley Twigg is a New Zealand rower born March 1, 1987, who specializes in the women's single sculls. Across four Olympic appearances, in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020, she won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games and silver at the 2024 Paris Games, and she also won gold at the 2014 World Rowing Championships. She retired from the sport twice, once in 2015 for graduate study and again after the 2016 Olympics, before returning to competition in 2018, and since marrying Charlotte Mizzi in 2020 she has become an outspoken advocate for LGBT athletes.
