Tanni Grey-Thompson is a Welsh former Paralympic wheelchair racer who won sixteen Paralympic medals, eleven of them gold, across five Games from 1988 to 2004, and set numerous world records over middle distances. After retiring from competition she became a member of the British House of Lords and a prominent advocate for disability rights and sport.
