Mo Farah

Sir Mohamed Mo Farah, born Hussein Abdi Kahin on March 23, 1983, in Gabiley in what is now Somaliland, is a British former long distance runner and the most successful British track athlete in Olympic history. He holds the record for the most global championship gold medals among male track distance runners, with four Olympic golds and six World Championship titles, winning both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics and defending both world titles at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships. He holds the world record for the one hour run and the European record in the 10,000 meters, was knighted in 2017 after being made a CBE in 2013, and after retiring from track in 2017 became a marathon runner, winning the 2018 Chicago Marathon in a European record time before retiring from competitive running in 2023.
