Wyomia Tyus is an American former sprinter, born in 1945, who won gold in the 100 metres at both the 1964 Tokyo and 1968 Mexico City Olympics, becoming the first sprinter to retain the Olympic 100 metre title across consecutive Games, an achievement since matched by Carl Lewis, Gail Devers, Usain Bolt and others. She also won gold in the 4x100 metre relay at the 1968 Games and silver in the relay in 1964, and after retiring became a founding member of the Women's Sports Foundation and published a memoir, Tigerbelle: The Wyomia Tyus Story, in 2018.
