Ichiriki Ryo is a Japanese professional Go player born on June 10, 1997, in Sendai. He turned professional in 2010 and reached 9 dan, winning the 2014 Globis Cup, an international under-20 tournament, before taking multiple Japanese domestic titles including the Gosei and Tengen in 2020 and further Kisei, Meijin, Honinbo and Tengen championships between 2022 and 2025. In 2024 he won the Ing Cup, defeating Xie Ke three games to none, becoming the first Japanese player to win a major international title in more than twenty years, and since 2020 he has also worked as a journalist for his family's newspaper, the Kahoku Shimpo.
