P. V. Sindhu is an Indian badminton player who became the first Indian woman to win an individual Olympic silver medal, at the 2016 Rio Games, and later added Olympic bronze in 2020. She won the women's singles title at the 2019 World Championships, becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at that event, and is one of the most decorated Indian athletes in any sport.
