Tim Holland was an American backgammon champion, teacher and author born in 1931 in Rockville Centre, New York. He won the World Backgammon Championship in 1968 and held the title until 1973, and also won the International Championship of Backgammon in London in 1966, 1972 and 1973. He earned about sixty thousand dollars a year in tournament prize money during the early 1970s, published four backgammon instructional books, and founded the Park 65 Backgammon Club in New York in 1978. He died in 2010 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
