Yoshinobu Miyake is a retired Japanese weightlifter, born in 1939, who won a silver medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics and gold medals at the 1964 Tokyo and 1968 Mexico City Games in the featherweight division, finishing fourth in 1972. Between 1959 and 1969 he set 25 official world records and pioneered the wide-grip, splayed-knee lifting stance known as the frog style or Miyake pull, and the International Weightlifting Federation inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 1993. His brother Yoshiyuki and niece Hiromi also won Olympic weightlifting medals for Japan, and he later coached the national team and carried Japan's flag at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony.
