Pyrros Dimas is a weightlifter born October 13, 1971, in Himare, Albania, to ethnic Greek parents, holding both Greek and Albanian citizenship. He competed for Albania from 1982 to 1992 before crossing the border and representing Greece from 1992 to 2004, winning three Olympic gold medals, in 1992, 1996 and 2000, and an Olympic bronze in 2004, making him the fourth weightlifter in history to medal at four different Games and the most decorated Greek Olympic athlete. He also won three World Championship titles, in 1993, 1995 and 1998, set a career-best total of 392.5 kilograms at the 1996 Olympics, and later served as technical director for USA Weightlifting from 2017.
