Nikolai Andrianov

Nikolai Yefimovich Andrianov was a Soviet artistic gymnast who lived from 1952 to 2011, born in Vladimir, Russian SFSR, who held the record for the most Olympic medals won by a man, fifteen in total, seven gold, five silver and three bronze, until Michael Phelps surpassed the mark in 2008. At the 1976 Montreal Olympics he won the all around title and six individual medals plus a team medal, the most medals any athlete has won at a single Olympic Games, and he also won two vault gold medals across the 1976 and 1980 Games. He was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2001.
