Magnus Ver Magnusson is an Icelandic strongman and powerlifter, born in 1963, who won the World's Strongest Man title four times, in 1991, 1994, 1995 and 1996, along with two Europe's Strongest Man titles and the 1995 World Muscle Power Classic. He began competing in powerlifting in 1984, recording lifts including a 400 kilogram squat and a 370.5 kilogram single-ply deadlift, and won Iceland's Strongest Man title eight times over his career. He later opened a gym in Kopavogur called Jakabol and founded the Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic competition in Iceland.
