Hossein Rezazadeh is an Iranian retired Olympic weightlifter born May 12, 1978, in Ardabil, who competed in the super heavyweight, over 105 kilogram, division and is widely regarded as one of the sport's greatest athletes. He won Olympic gold at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Games, becoming the first non-Soviet, non-Russian athlete to win the super heavyweight title at a non-boycotted Olympics since 1960, and he added four World Weightlifting Championship titles, in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006, plus multiple world records in the snatch and clean and jerk. He was named Iran's Sportsperson of the Year four times, more than any other athlete in the country's history.
