Geoff Hurst

Sir Geoffrey Charles Hurst (born 8 December 1941) is a retired English footballer who became the first player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final, when England recorded a 4-2 victory over West Germany at Wembley in the 1966 FIFA World Cup final. He played as a striker for West Ham United from 1958 to 1972, making 411 appearances and scoring 180 goals, followed by spells at Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion. With West Ham he won the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1965. He scored 24 goals in 49 appearances for England and won a bronze medal at UEFA Euro 1968. He was knighted in 1998 and inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2004, and he is the last surviving player from England's 1966 World Cup-winning final squad.
