Marta, full name Marta Vieira da Silva, is a Brazilian professional footballer widely regarded as one of the greatest women's players in the sport's history. A forward known internationally by her single first name, she has won the FIFA World Player of the Year or Best FIFA Women's Player award more times than any other footballer, male or female, and became the all-time leading scorer, male or female, at World Cup tournaments while representing Brazil across a career spanning several club leagues including the United States' National Womens Soccer League.
