Egan Arley Bernal Gomez, born January 13, 1997, is a Colombian professional road cyclist and climbing specialist. He won the 2019 Tour de France at age 22, becoming the first Latin American rider ever to win the race and the youngest winner since 1909, and two years later added a second Grand Tour title at the 2021 Giro d'Italia. Earlier in his career he had already won the 2018 Tour of California and the 2019 Paris-Nice and Tour de Suisse stage races. A severe crash in January 2022 significantly affected his career, and although he returned to competitive racing in 2023 he has not performed at his previous elite level since.
