Charles Wade Barkley, nicknamed Sir Charles and the Round Mound of Rebound, is an American former professional basketball player and broadcaster, born in 1963, who played sixteen NBA seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets between 1984 and 2000. An eleven time All-Star and eleven time All-NBA selection, he won the 1993 Most Valuable Player award and two Olympic gold medals with the United States in 1992 and 1996, and was named to the NBA's 50th and 75th anniversary teams; he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 for his playing career and again in 2010 as part of the 1992 Dream Team. Since 2000 he has worked as a studio analyst on the television program Inside the NBA, winning five Sports Emmy Awards for his work.
