Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon, known until 1991 as Akeem Olajuwon and nicknamed the Dream, is a Nigerian and American former professional basketball player who played eighteen seasons in the National Basketball Association, primarily with the Houston Rockets. He was a two time NBA champion, two time NBA Finals MVP, two time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and the league's Most Valuable Player in 1994. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players and centers in the sport's history.
