Susan Polgar is a Hungarian-American chess grandmaster born April 19, 1969. She became the top ranked female player in the world at age 15 in 1984, earned the grandmaster title in January 1991 as only the third woman awarded it by FIDE, and held the Women's World Chess Championship from 1996 to 1999. She won eleven medals at the Women's Chess Olympiad, four gold, four silver and three bronze, playing 56 games across those Olympiads without ever losing one, and was inducted into the United States Chess Hall of Fame in 2019.
