Pietro Forquet was an Italian bridge player considered one of the greatest in the game's history. Born in Naples, he left a banking career to play bridge professionally and was a member of Italy's Blue Team, winning 12 Bermuda Bowl world championships between 1957 and 1974, most often partnering Benito Garozzo, along with three World Open Team Olympiad titles and five European Open Team championships between 1951 and 1959. He also co-authored several bridge books with Garozzo, including Bridge with the Blue Team, widely regarded as one of the finest collections of bridge deals ever published. Forquet lived from 1925 to 2023.
