Benito Garozzo is an Italian-American contract bridge champion born September 5, 1927, widely called the world's best bridge player by many experts during his championship years. He won 13 world titles primarily with Italy's Blue Team, including 10 Bermuda Bowl victories between 1961 and 1975 and 3 World Open Team Olympiad titles in 1964, 1968 and 1972, partnering Pietro Forquet from 1961 to 1972 and then Giorgio Belladonna, with whom he co-developed the Super Precision bidding system. He has authored multiple influential bridge strategy books and has lived in the United States since 1987, becoming a citizen in 1994.
