Adam George Peaty is a British competitive swimmer born December 28, 1994, in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, widely regarded as the most dominant sprint breaststroke swimmer of all time. He won three Olympic gold medals, in the 100 meter breaststroke at both the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Games and in the mixed 4x100 meter medley relay in 2020, plus three relay silver medals, and captured eight long course World Championship gold medals. He became the first man to swim the 50 meter breaststroke under 26 seconds and the 100 meter breaststroke under both 58 and 57 seconds, and won sixteen gold medals at the European Championships.
