Yevgeny Viktorovich Sadovy is a Russian freestyle swimmer, born January 19, 1973, in Volzhsky, Volgograd Oblast, in the Soviet Union. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, competing for the Unified Team, he won three gold medals, in the 200 meter freestyle, 400 meter freestyle and 4x200 meter freestyle relay, and was named Male World Swimmer of the Year by Swimming World magazine that year. He also won multiple gold medals in freestyle events at the European Championships in the early 1990s and set world records in the 400 meter and 4x200 meter freestyle relay. He retired from competitive swimming in 1996 and became a coach, working with swimmers in Volgograd, Moscow and Libya.
