Ponte del Diavolo

Alignment and Abstract Strategy Games

Ponte del Diavolo, Italian for Devil's Bridge, is a two-player abstract strategy board game in which players construct islands and connect them with bridges on a board sized ten by ten or twelve by twelve squares. The game uses connective territorial mechanics similar to the game Go and is a pure mathematical strategy game with no element of chance. Designer Martin Ebel created the game, which was published by Hans im Gluck in 2007 and by Rio Grande Games in 2008; Games magazine named it its Best New Abstract Strategy Game in 2009. A typical playthrough lasts thirty to sixty minutes and the game is recommended for players aged ten and up.
