All Wheeled and Board Action Sports

Action sports ridden on a board or a wheeled vehicle, built around tricks, jumps and stunts judged on style and difficulty rather than a race. Skateboarding and freestyle motocross are the type cases. What belongs here is a rider-and-equipment sport whose result is scored on the manoeuvres performed, as at the X Games; straight races on wheels belong with cycling or motorsport. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Action Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
